I'd like to know what you lot consider an optimum amount of sleep. If you could let me know, I could stop wasting the time that I currently spend trying to get to sleep, and only go to bed when I would get to sleep. I'm even tired tonight. Just not sleepy. So, y'know, gis a break, wha'?

Oh, everywhere from 5-8 hours.

Last night I got less than 3.

Whatever amount leaves me not a walking zombie the next day.

Saying that, I rarely sleep well.

I heartily recommend that everyone else should get 24 hours of sleep a day. It would make my life so much easier and less stressful.

I need 7 hours a night. Rob needs 9 hours a night. While pregnant, I need 8 hours a night and one in the day.

I tend to need 9-10 hours sleep, but that's because my metabolism is so slow it's counted in ice-ages :(

I get 4 hours sleep a night, almost to the minute. I *need* 6-8 hours sleep a night now that I'm getting older. Guess why I look haggard and sleep-deprived a lot of the time.

It's also why I have to video programmes that I'm actually watching, given how often I doze off for 20 minutes or so during the course of them and have to catch up later...

I've heard that as you get older (possibly it's "properly" older - post-60, or so), you need less sleep. It's certainly true in my family, anyway.

I like 8 hours. I invented a device last night that would determine when I'd gone to sleep and wake me up exactly 8 hours later, so I could have proper sleep cycles instead of overusing the snooze button on my alarm clock, but I think I fell asleep before writing the invention down. What a waste.

HeeheeheesleepingpillsWHEE~!

Personally I can function with a ridiculously small amount of sleep, but for optimal results 8 hours is the best. Though if need be, I can go on with about 5.
