Watch "Mystery Men" for a brief discussion of the pronunciation of this word :) If I remember correctly, "Baby Bowler" pronounces it 'Kad-rah', but it's been a while :)
I've just went and listened to that and, umm, wtf? At least when the Weimar Germans pronounced Jazz "yats" it followed the spelling conventions of _German_, but "kadray" so does not follow the spelling conventions of American.

OED says /kadr/. I'd go with that.
