I know -2°C doesn't seem all that cold to you Colonials. Bear in mind that this is the first time that it's dipped below zero all winter in Dublin (city, not county), and that we usually have wind of 10mph or more here, and higher humidity than most places. For an island sitting in the Gulf Stream, -2°C is pretty good going.

This is Georgia, and is about as cold as it usually gets here. Which wouldn't be so bad, only the house we are living in is typical pre-air-conditioning Southern construction (built for coolness, not warmth...)

At least we've finally gotten snow. We've been having winter droughts in Wisconsin, where it's just bitter cold and dry.

I'll probably bring my down jacket, some insulated jeans, and my thermal sleeping bag. I could bring my insulated storm coat and hooded sweatshirt, but I'm thinking the down will be better at this point.
