And I still haven't figured out how Torchwood 1 was the whole of Canary Wharf and Torchwood 2 is a few guys in a basement in Cardiff, who are supposed to be secret and yet everyone has heard of "Torchwood" and they drive around in a Range Rover with "Torchwood" etched on the side???
Also, in a crossover gotcha, how did Dr Who manage to save the Earth (yet again) in the Christmas Special which included orbiting spaceships, matter transportation, and the Army blasting a spaceship out of the sky and Torchwood (Defender of the Human Race, "ya gotta be ready!") never noticed? Or were never called?
If y'all had been paying proper attention, those were properly foreshadowed, hinted at, and documented. I'm always careful about that stuff - I've laid in plot threads up to a year in advance at times, which I think is about the equivalent of six BBC seasons in terms of material covered. Aside from which, if I'm going to go completely off the rails thematically, I try to have a reason. And if I can do it in my spare time, you'd think a whole professional production team could have a bit of a go at it.
I'll freely admit that I lay in more material than any one human could track, but I think that's a lesser sin than pulling biblical monsters out of nowhere.
I'm still waiting for someone to pay attention to the missing modrons, for instance...
