If y'all had been paying proper attention, those were properly foreshadowed, hinted at, and documented. I'm always careful about that stuff - I've laid in plot threads up to a year in advance at times, which I think is about the equivalent of six BBC seasons in terms of material covered. Aside from which, if I'm going to go completely off the rails thematically, I try to have a reason. And if I can do it in my spare time, you'd think a whole professional production team could have a bit of a go at it.
I'll freely admit that I lay in more material than any one human could track, but I think that's a lesser sin than pulling biblical monsters out of nowhere.
