Someone in the office has just used the "My precious" line.

Contrary to some folks I've heard, I've no objections to it. But it doesn't amuse me, for the simple reason that for the joke is about sixteen years old for me. When I was nine, I went through a brief period of petting objects and muttering "Precious". So use away on it, folks, just don't expect me to laugh.

(Mind you, I just got the mental image of Eddie Izzard petting a makeup case... so perhaps there's hope for it after all.)

I should mention that apparently, I've got a dead-on Smeagol impression going on. The voice just kind of came to me, and I've been creeping out all my friends.

Heck, I'm even impressing myself. I'll have to do it for you guys some time.

Oh! You may be tired of the reference but theres something I have to get hold of for everyone! It's a rap of the LOTR, as done by Tom Bombadil and someone else, including a guest rap by Gollum! IT's so funny...I'm going to go look for it now, and hopefully I can get it for tonight!

Text or audio? Either way if anyone would like to share I'd love to look at it/hear it. :)

Thanks.

Replying to my own post... found it on the net.

It's good... not totally kick ass, but not too bad.

Go to Lord of the Rhymes and there's a link there for the lyrics, middle of the page on the right.

It may be an old joke, but I have the feeling that Gabriel's been doing it since he read the books as a kid. ;) Still doing it, too. As are the boys now.
