Since
mr_wombat has no DSL at the moment, he's kindly lent me his WoW install discs and account, so I can try it out properly. At present, I've one character, an undead warlock called Wormscion, on Argent Dawn. I'm impressed by the level of roleplaying I see going on around me and the gameplay, and, I have to say, more and more irritated by the cartoon graphics - I was just getting used to the undead when I saw a Tauren.
However, I'll be on and off for the next ten days, so drop me a message if you see me on - I'll be alternating it with DAoC.

"Just last night during (yet another) Southshore/Tarren Mill encounter I found myself (as Rannia) wanting to hide in the tower, sitting in the corner.
I had hoped to do something along the lines of:
Rannia lay curled up in the corner, shaking violently, tears readily flow down her cheeks. She looks up as you approach, desperately huddling further against the wall, clutching her daggers tightly though too terrified by the events transpiring around her to be any threat.
Yet apparantly that would merely come up as:
Rannia makes strange gestures with her hands."
:D
My sister who plays Horde on a PvP server said that there the barrier is a good thing, noting that if both factions would understand what the other party was talking about, such as grouping for a dungeon, they'd rush straight in for the kills. Not sure how it's with PvE servers... I'm still <20 on both sides on mine. :P

It's obviously only applicable to /say and /yell channels, though... the various private and public group channels such as General, LookingForGroup, party, etc., would still be faction-based, so unless someone /yelled 'Looking for group for Wailing Caverns' the other faction wouldn't know about it.
